About the project
The project began in 2005 with a design competition in which we took second place. Following a second round, in which the designs were considered in terms of their practicability, in 2007 the National Bank decided to grant the commission for the definitive design of the new Swiss banknotes to me and my team. The commission ranges from the development of draft designs right up to the production stage.
On 12 April 2016, the Swiss National Bank put the 50-franc note – the first banknote in the new series – into circulation.
On 3d September 2019, the design of the last banknote was revealed: the design of the 100-franc note.
